John Legend Tour Interview

The North American leg of Legend’s 2007 world concert tour drew rave reviews from the nation’s music press and ecstatic responses from his legions of fans.
"…Legend proved time and time again during an impressive set," wrote Glenn Gamboa in New York Newsday, "…how his artistry is growing leaps and bounds."
"Given the superb pacing, ceaseless energy and smooth segueing of this straightforward dazzler," observed Ben Wener in the Orange County Register’s review of the first show of the tour in Irvine, California, "it’s as if John…ramped up the bits that already worked for extra wow factor…. Rarely has a relatively young upstart (Legend, 28, has only two albums) seemed so much the seasoned professional."
"…The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter…had smitten female and frat boys shouting his name," said the Boston Herald’s Lauren Carter. "Considering Legend has relied on musical talent rather than gimmicks and wardrobe changes to gain credibility, it was no surprise his set was the kind of transcendent experience that gave new life to already inspired songs."
In The New York Times review of John’s show at the Nokia Theater in Manhattan, music writer Sia Michel praised Legend for "…giving voice to a romantic style of neo-soul, with hip-hop swagger…."
