New Eric Essix gem coming to vinyl for Record Store Day

Eric Essix is an artist’s artist, with more than three decades and 26 full length albums under his belt. And with his latest album, Songs From The Deep, the now legendary guitarist shows that he is hitting his creative peak.

The Berklee College of Music graduate recorded four highly regarded albums on the Nova Records label before being signed by the Warner Brothers affiliated label, Zebra Records, where he rode up the charts with the hit singles “For Real” and “Rainy Night In Georgia.” But for nearly 20 years as a true independent artist on his own Essential Recordings, Eric has become a radio staple, with hit after hit and top selling albums that made waves in both the jazz and adult R&B worlds.

2020 brought a devastating pandemic to the world, but also brought inspiration to artists. And it gave Eric the time to create the memorable Songs from the Deep. He teamed up once more with Grammy nominated keyboardist and bassist Kelvin Wooten and drummer Marcus Finnie to develop a varied, thoughtful album that touches on strong elements of soul, jazz and gospel.

It was a real challenge to write and construct this album while being quarantined and experiencing extreme shifts in emotions daily during the recording process,” Eric says. “But I am happy to now have the opportunity to share it and I hope people will be moved by what they hear, each in his or her own way.

Songs from the Deep has been a hit with fans in its digital release, and now will be released on vinyl on November 26, 2021, Record Store Day. We couldn’t be more excited and can’t wait for SoulTrackers to hear this gem of an album in the warmth of that format. Check it out below and get ready to get your copy.
