ANN ARBOR, MI August 24, 2007 — LAUNCHcast Radio, Yahoo! Music's top rated one online radio service, today launched Soul Revival, a soul music online radio station, with the help of SoulTracks, (www.soultracks.com), America's most popular soul music website.
Unlike modern urban radio's general focus on hip-hop and related music, Soul Revival will highlight the burgeoning soul music movement, a new generation of talented artists and musicians influenced by the classic soul sound of the 60s and 70s who largely appeal to a growing audience of listeners age thirty and older. These artists include rising stars such as Frank McComb, Angela Johnson, Conya Doss and Eric Roberson.
"Soul Revival creates a great new avenue for adult listeners who've outgrown or never took to hip-hop, to hear fantastic new music with strong melodies and messages," says SoulTracks publisher Chris Rizik. "And we were honored to be asked by Soul Revival's programmer Ulysses "Stretch" Garrett to assist in identifying and connecting with the best new soul music artists. Yahoo! Music has shown again why it is the internet music leader by being the first major internet radio organization to devote a station to this up-and-coming genre."
