We at SoulTracks have been big fans of Phil Perry for years, and he is a two time winner of the SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Award. But when we were recently checking out the video archives on his new website PhilPerry.tv we were reminded of his first big solo hit, a blistering remake of Aretha Franklin’s “Call Me.” It was a tour de force and shot to the top of the R&B charts.
We thought it was high time to take another listen to this brilliant performance. What do you think?
