We introduced SoulTrackers to Austin native Quentin Moore last year and he won over quite a few fans with his album You Forgot Your Heart. Quentin is back in a big way with the premiere of the video for his new single, “Witch.”
Says Quentin: “’Witch’ is a blend of a variety of sounds that come together to channel the essence of the Blaxploitation Soul/Funk era while capturing the Indie Neo-Soul vibe of today. It is a song about a bitter woman who is shallow and materialistic, trapped because of her past love life failures. The song is intended to show bitter women that if they make a change in their attitudes toward men, abandon wishes of a fairytale romance, stop focusing on material objects and release the failures of past relationships, it can possibly bring them more than they’ve ever wanted in their love lives.”
And about the video: “I wanted to shoot the video to bring my experiences to life. I wanted women and the world to see why I wrote Witch. I love to have fun so we added a 70s “Blaxploitation” feel to the video and characters. It was actually fitting because the music and melody of the song has a Curtis Mayfield “Superfly” funk/soul feel anyways. I love to laugh so I wanted to make people laugh with me while I got my message across.”
We’re proud to present the World Premiere of the video “Witch,” and think SoulTrackers will really like it. Check it out below and tell us what you think!
