June 8, 2018 — The veritable river of new R&B/soul from the UK continues to flow, unabated. And we here in the “colonies” are all the better for it!
This week brings us Zilo, a compelling 24-year old singer, songwriter, poet and painter from London who five years ago began putting her poetry on top of instrumentals by the artist Dream Koala. Zilo also paints her own album covers, which are as expressive as her music, inviting you to spend time with them as they unfold. We feature here her latest track “Don’t Waste My Time,” a slice of head-nodding new soul topped by Zilo’s sweet, honeyed vocals. Enjoy.
