SoulTrackers may remember Tay Beckham from her stint as a teenager on NBC’s show The Voice, but the 20 year old former Team Usher member is now ready to branch out for a solo career. Working with All-4-One’s Jamie Jones and his production group The Heavyweights, she has just released her debut EP, Love Hard. She’s the first artist signed by the new Heavyweights Entertainment label.
Tay is leading off the album with her debut music video “Excuses,” directed by Toroh Films and produced by Larry Plummer. 90s R&B played a big role in Tay’s development, and she shows touches of that on this ballad about a love gone wrong. She says, “I’m so excited about officially becoming a solo artist and starting my career off with my very first music video. It’s quite an exciting time for me.”
