(November 6, 2019) Every song tells a story. A lot times the stories told in the lyrics are the stuff of pure fantasy. Then there are times an artist tears the stories from real life. That is the case with the song “Intuition” by Arizona native Taiya.
“Intuition” is an autobiographical and inspirational song and video where Taiya uses the lyrics to tell the story of how she endured a difficult childhood that included seeing her mother victimized by domestic violence and her father incarcerated when she was five years old. Taiya and her family then endured years of financial struggle where they moved from home to home and sometimes were forced to live on the street.
Through all of those struggles, there were some constants in Taiya’s life, and viewers see those constants in the video that includes photos of major events and important people in her life. The message that comes through in “Intuition” is that through all the struggles there is an unseen force that sustained this artist and allowed her to prevail.
