Teisha Marie is the embodiment of an artist who realized that if she wanted something done that she’d have to do it herself. The England born and American raised singer-songwriter crafted the cuts that comprised her 2007 EP Addicted to Life with the intention of selling them to other vocalists. However, Marie couldn’t find a vocalist who could give her the sound that she wanted on the demo, so she sang the songs – ultimately opting to keep them for herself. That demo drew the attention of people within the industry, resulting in a full-length album released under the title Addicted to Life and 2013’s The Girl From Nowhere.
Now Marie returns with a new a deep mid-tempo groove single titled “These Things.” The track finds Marie declaring that while she’s not thirsty, she stands ready to give her love to someone who is prepared to make a commitment. She tells us: “My latest song, ‘These Things,’ is expressing where I am in my life as a single woman. Sometimes what you need is what you want and sometimes you have to say what you want out loud. I always have something to say, but I like to take my time to decide how I want to present it.”
