(November 10, 2018) Sade broke a near decade-long silence earlier this year with the song “Flower of the Universe” from the Disney movie A Wrinkle In Time, but her fans were clearly looking for something more – and a sound more familiar. That wish is accomplished with the brand new single, “The Big Unknown,” which comes from the upcoming Viola Davis pic, Widows.
The tender ballad utilizes sparse instrumentation, leaving Sade’s enticing voice upfront to tell a story of pain and uncertainty, but also of hope that “I will rise again.”
This number should please Sade’s legion of fans more than “Flower of the Universe,” and will get them jazzed up to hear more from the reclusive singer. Check it out below.
