(August 3, 2023) Southern Soul singer Karlonda Smith, aka Mz. Poochie, is new to us, but if her latest single, “Forever Mine,” is any indication, we’ll be following her for awhile.
Co-written by Smith with Antonio Turner, “Forever Mine” is a old fashion bluesy ballad on which a woman expresses her eternal love for the man in her life, and Mz Poochie sings the heck out of it. This cut has the kind of instant classic feel to it that could place it next to 70s classics like “Misty Blue.”
It’s always fun when a song catches you by surprise, and that’s the gift that “Forever Mine” is for us. Check it out below.
