Lauren “LA” Ashley is a talented young artist who has fought through adversity, and has come out on the other end ready to make her mark in music. The New Jersey native lost both her musician father and best friend, and found both solace and drive in her music.
Lauren was brought to our attention by the folks at Soul Factory in New York, and quite a find she is, as you’ll hear on her new single, “Better Than.”
Lauren tells us about the ballad: “Everyone, not just women, has been hurt and treated in a way that they just couldn’t take anymore. And at some point you realize you’re worth so much more than the way you’ve been treated. And there is someone who will treat you like the King/Queen you are. We all have that breaking point. And once you realize your worth, only then will you know how you should be treated and when he/she comes into your life. You’re guard won’t be up, and you won’t take what happened to you into your past relationship into your new relationship because what you had won’t be what you will have.”
