(March 30, 2017) LaRombé is  a Grammy honored songwriter, recording artist, and producer. Originally signed to legendary Curtis Mayfield’s Curtom Records, this Philly native, now based in L.A., has numerous credits and is known for his “PhilaFornia Soul,” a hybrid of classic and contemporary R&B. The former radio DJ describes it as “grown folk music that all folk can enjoy.

In the aftermath of the Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown incidents, LaRombé says, “I felt like we needed another ‘We Are The World,’ cause it seemed like Uncle Sam was moon-walkin—giving the appearance of movin  forward racially, when in actuality we were movin backwards” As the incidents kept mounting, he was inspired to write “What A Shame,” which asked the question “Why can’t all people be treated as equals.” People of all colors wanted to get involved and donate their talents, so he formed C.A.L.A. (Concerned Artist of L.A.), who made this song and video possible.“It was an honor to be involved in a Cause like this howeverwhat a shame that a song like “What A Shame” had to be written. After all this time, some people STILL have to demand equality… and some pay the ultimate price. R.I.P. to all those who should not have had to!   “Why can’t all people be treated as equals?”
