(August 25, 2020) Melbourne’s “High Priestess of Soul,” Kylie Auldist, has built a steady and devoted following over the past two decades as part of funky outfit The Bamboos and with solo efforts like the sassy and gritty “No Use” and “Sensational.” In 2016, her star rose to a new level via a featured vocal on the international dance hit “This Girl” by Kungs vs. Cookin’ on 3 Burners.

Auldist is gearing up for the release of her fifth LP, This Is What Happiness Looks Like, and now gives SoulTrackers the first taste of the set with a heavenly slice of melodic ‘80s boogie business aptly titled “Is It Fun?” The singer-songwriter says of the tune, “All the songs tell us that love is painful and blind, crazy and unkind. Maybe everyone is just doing it wrong! Sometimes I find it hard to tell the difference between love and fun. Or is that just at parties? Either way, love should be closer to fun than misery.
