First Listen: K’Jon returns with the soulful “Can’t Live”

(October 3, 2023) Singer-songwriter K’Jon has always possessed a strong sense of self. That is a quality that he needed to have in a market that often treats the kind of music he makes as an afterthought. That belief in himself and the type of music that he wanted to create prevented K’Jon from chasing trends or throwing up his hands and walking away.

The success of his 2009 song “On The Ocean,” a love ballad to the enduring qualities of perseverance and staying true to yourself, confirmed the bet that the Detroit native made on himself. That initial success allowed K’Jon to stay the course and remain true to his vision.

Now, he has returned with a mid-tempo cut that is aimed at and will hit the hearts of members of steppers sets in cities like his hometown and Chicago. That song, “Can’t Live” is featured in this First Listen.

“Can’t Live” is a song that celebrates all that is good about a committed relationship between two people. And it is fitting that a song about a man and woman working through the ups and downs that relationships can present will lead those couples to the dancefloor. Check out K Jon’s “Can’t Live” here.
