(March 19, 2019) Juanita Wynn is a songwriter’s songwriter. She has the ability to write songs for artists in any genre and any era. She’s created gems for L’Andria Johnson, Fred Hammond, Destiny’s Child, Diana Ross, Ben Tankard and Karyn White, just to name a few. From my count, that’s gospel, jazz and R&B. Wynn is a vocalist who worked in the gospel world, but she steps to the forefront as an R&B vocalist in her own right on the mid-tempo cut “Let It Go.”
Grammy winner Wynn co-wrote “Let it Go” with James Colah and one of the UK’s super soul producers Dee “Kejam” Majek. “For me it’s always about music with a purpose,” Kejam said. “Let it Go takes you back to those days when quality music with great lyrical content used to resonate with people.”
Accordingly, “Let it Go” is aimed squarely at that urban adult soul fan but the track will be welcomed by anyone who appreciates great lyrics brought forth by a peerless musical storyteller. Wynn makes good use of her time behind the mic on this one. Release date of the single is April 25, but we have a sneak peek now. Check it out.
