J. Most is a triple threat – A singer/songwriter, promoter and even a steppers dance instructor. But we know him most as an R&B artist with an authentic funky style that blends old school and new school.
The Milwaukee native now lives in the musical hotspot of Minneapolis, where he has been working as the promoter of a series of popular tribute shows to Gerald Levert, Luther Vandross, Barry White and Earth Wind & Fire. And he’s just released his debut album, Big Boyy, a varied disc of R&B, hip-hop and dance music. He has a song with hip-hop’s Chubb Rock that is climbing the charts, but we’ve take a bigger shine to the fine ballad “Near and With Me.”
Says J of the song, “I was inspired by the Boyz To Men song ‘Please Don’t Go Away’ and My Kids Mom from Duluth. This song was written over 12 years ago. I added some lyrics last year and produced the music with Jonathan Winstead of One Staj Music.“
We think the combination worked well and think you’ll like “Near and With Me.” Check it out below!
