Baton Rouge, Louisiana, native Ian Von grew up with deep roots firmly planted in the church, where he cultivated his skills as a singer and musician. He later joined a boy band and toured with artists such as Destiny’s Child and Joe.
Ian finally moved to a solo career a couple years ago and he is now readying his sophomore album, Love Songs, Beats & Guitars. And he leads off the album with the dance number, “New Music.” Says Ian, “‘New Music’ was one of the first few songs I recorded off my new album. I realized my album had a strong soulful R&B feel and wanted to balance it with a more contemporary sound that would blend Dance R&B music as well as wanting something that would appeal to a more international market which was the heart behind creating this record.’New Music’” is metaphoric, as it describes me wanting to shed new light as in ’New music’” to this woman and it can also be interpreted as me bringing new music to the R&B music industry.”
