(March 19, 2018) A few years ago, we introduced SoulTrackers to talented singer and songwriter Gwendolyn Collins when we reviewed her album Storytelling Side 1: The Simple Things. It showed her to be an artist who stylistically skirted the line between soul and jazz, and who lyrically was unafraid to discuss edgy topics head on. Since then we’ve continued to follow Gwendolyn, as she’s release a series of great singles, many in collaboration with other great female singer
Gwendolyn now joins harmonic forces with new indie artist IISMA to create a beautiful springtime duet that we’re really digging. “Hold Me” provides a simple acoustic backdrop for the sweet back and forth between the two singers. The song has a classic feel – think of the work of Deniece Williams back in the day – and it really should brighten up the day for SoulTrackers.
The song will be out on March 23, but we’re proud to present the World Premiere to SoulTrackers now! Check out Gwendolyn and IISMA below and tell us what you think about “Hold Me.”
