Cal-based quartet Givers & Takers consider themselves a psychedelic soul band, and the members – Zack Greenwald, Alan Krespan, Drew Bruchs, and Mark Pollack – certainly bring together a lot of disparate elements together in a very smooth, fun way.
The group’s new single, “Start the Morning,” has elements of 70s pop combined with a smooth, soulful groove that is just right for a sunny Spring day. Mark tells us about the song, “’Start the Morning’ examines whether we root our actions in love or in fear. When we wake up each day, we have the choice on how we’re going to live out our day, and over time, our lives. Do we honor our desires through love, or let our fears control how we live?”
