First Listen: George Benson and Little Anthony are “Electric Together” on Remix

(September 6, 2016) Last December, we introduced SoulTrackers to the joining of two music legends on a new song. Producer Preston Glass brought into the studio the great Little Anthony (Anthony Gourdine, age 74) and singer/guitarist extraordinaire George Benson (age 72). Folks remember Little Anthony from his chart topping days in the 60s with songs like “Hurts So Bad” and “Take Me Back,” And George Benson ruled the contemporary jazz charts for over three decades and still packs them in wherever he goes.

The two all-time greats certainly had a great time together making the song “Electric Together,” as can be seen in the “making of” video (below). And the result of their collaboration was a decent, upbeat number that should please their fans. Well, then the talented Nigel Lowis and the folks at the DSG label thought they could do something interesting with the song, and we think they’ve made it even better. Lowis gives the song a more infectious, danceable beat and a lusher production to boot. It is the first single from the upcoming compilation on DSG called Soul City People.

Check out the Nigel Lowis remix of the George Benson and Little Anthony song “Electric Together” and tell us what you think!
