(June 3, 2018) Garshar Christopher is a Dallas-based artist who has been working as a background singer for a variety of artists for years, and is now stepping out as a solo artist. While she’s primarily worked with the R&B or neo-soul genres, Garshar also wants to branch out as a singer and a songwriter in hopes of writing for other performers.
Garshar’s torchy and percussive waltz ballad “Hope U 2 Break Up” will serve as a good calling card. “Hope U 2 Break Up” is a song about ‘not getting over it.’ The track finds the singer coming to terms with the fact that a relationship ended. What Gashar actually comes to terms with is that she’s not happy to see that her former boyfriend has achieved the ultimate manifestation of moving on – he got married to somebody else. The track is a stream of consciousness reflection of the result of Garshar listening to that little devil on her left shoulder rather than the angel on her right. However, every time she sees a happy couple walking hand in hand or feeding each other, her thoughts go back to what she lost, and the only possible way to get that thing back. Check it out.
