(October 3, 2019) Even though we’re sitting here in Detroit, we hadn’t heard of up and coming singer Elusiv. But she definitely has something going. She’s been singing since she was a teenager, and now she’s moving to the front with a brand new album, Timeless, produced by One Way’s Craig Lane (aka Mr. Groove).
One of the songs from the disc that has caught our ear is the cool midtempo, “The Greatest Luv Of All.” The cut has a decidedly 80s Nuevo Soul vibe, with a vibe that would have worked back in the day for Anita Baker or Regina Belle.
Elusiv says about the song, “‘The Greatest Luv Of All’ came in the middle of the night. Craig woke me up at 2:00 a.m. asking me to sing the chorus. I went back to sleep woke the next morning and the track was done. During that day we finished all the vocals. We then added Odell Jones because we wanted That Temptations sound on the album.”
We think the whole thing works really nicely, and that SoulTrackers will dig this one. Check out “The Greatest Luv of All,” and welcome Elusiv to SoulTracks!
