First Listen: Dionne Warwick and granddaughter Cheyenne make beautiful music together

She is Dionne Warwick’s granddaughter, but she is on the way to becoming a star in her own right. Meet Cheyenne Elliott.  The young New Yorker has been singing her whole life, including with her father David Elliott (who wrote “here and Now” for Luther Vandross) and her grandmother.

And when legendary producer Narada Michael Walden, heard her sing, he invited her out to Tarpan Studios in San Rafael, California, where Whitney, Aretha Franklin, Mariah Carey and many other artists recorded some of their biggest hits. Cheyenne’s debut EP is slated for release in early 2015.

Narada has produced a touching duet of the dynamic grandmother and granddaughter, entitled “Let There Be Love,” written by Narada along with Shannon Rubicam & George Merrill, who wrote two of Whitney’s biggest hit songs and who had their own hits as the duo Boy Meets Girl.

We have the Dionne and Cheyenne duet as our newest SoulTracks First Listen. Check it out below and tell us what you think!
