First Listen: Beau Williams returns to ask for “Respect”

(October 2, 2016) Many SoulTrackers will remember 80s recording artist and Star Search winner Beau WilliamsThe expressive singer won us over with his early 80s recordings, long before Ed McMahon lauded him and years and years before he became a Gospel star who topped the charts with the Sam Cooke remake, “Wonderful.”

Well, the talented Rev. Williams is back with a brand new song that will sound familiar. It is a remake of the Staple Singers’ classic “Respect Yourself,” this time aimed at a new generation of young people. Beau teams with Sherron Bennett to create a rousing version of the song that will get you moving…and thinking. It has been adopted by the nonprofit group The Menformation Project as its theme song.

Take a listen to “Respect Yourself” and enjoy the return of a great one!
