(October 8, 2020) We’ve been following the members of NYC-based group Trew Culture – individually and collectively – for some time now. The band’s aim is “to highlight the melting pot of New York City’s diverse culture centered on Hiphop & Jazz music” and they’ve gained quite a following with their thoughtful, creative collaborations.
Two of the members of Trew Culture, drummer/producer Unkle Nephew and rapper BD3 are now collaborating with singer Christina Flemming on a new single that has a late summer feel to it that combines 90s R&B, hip-hop and elements of jazz fusion.
“Why Do U Luv Me” asks the question, from one lover to another, about how it is that they are growing together. It’s a gentle sentiment contrasted by a groove that is deceptively complex, but really engaging, with a call and response between sweet sung vocals and rap.
Check out “Why Do U Luv Me” and tell us what you think!
