(June 12, 2017) Atlantic Starr is one of the truly great soul music vocal groups of the past four decades years. They delivered a bunch of terrific dance jams back in the day, but what they may be best known for are some all-time great slow jams like “Send For Me,” “Always” and “Secret Lovers.” But they’re more than just a ballad band.
The Starr has returned from a long absence with their new album, Metamorphosis, and a few months ago we spotlighted the first single, “My Best Friend.” Well, the quartet is now ready to show off their dance chops with their brand new single, “It’s Party Time.” With a steady disco beat behind them, and singer Melissa Pierce giving the business up front, it’s another fine song hailing the group’s return.
