(December 11, 2015) We first heard of San Francisco singer Ashling Cole on the great Expansion Records collection Soul Togetherness 2015, and oh what an auspicious first song! She delivers “Give It To You,” an instant classic that sounds like an AM radio staple from the 70s, with a cool beat and a horn section backing Cole’s expressive, soulful voice.
Ashling has been spending most of her time as the lead singer for Larry Graham’s Graham Central Station, but she found enough time earlier this year to record the album Where Love Began. But for us, it is the glorious single that jumps off the record as one of our new favorites.
