We’ve been fans of Hall of Fame singer, songwriter and musician Chris Jasper from the jump on SoulTracks. We have followed his career from the halcyon days as part of The Isley Brothers and later Isley Jasper Isley, right through his terrific solo career that won for him a SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Awards Lifetime Achievement Award.
In addition to being an iconic musical artist, Chris is a husband and father, and this year he celebrates his 40th wedding anniversary with his wife Margie. To celebrate that momentous occasion, as well as Valentine’s Day, Chris is releasing a brand new single. “It Started With a Kiss” is a tribute to that first kiss that led to finding his “love mate.”
It is a terrific love song that still has that deep groove that makes it a certified blue-lights-in-the-basement slow jam. We think SoulTrackers are going to dig both the message and the vibe.
