Official Biography (courtesy of Nia Devine)
Born and raised in Miami’s culturally diverse melting pot, Nia Devine came across many musical genres that influenced her personal style. As a young developing artist, she mimicked the stylings of vocalists that she would hear on the radio.
From past greats, such as Nina Simone and Etta James, climbing the musical ladder of time to artists such as Lauryn Hill and Alicia Keys, she emulated the skills that made these voices so distinct, finally falling into her own unmistakable smooth and sultry sound. As a writer, Nia Devine refuses to conform to the restraints of boxes that genres try to stick artists in. She sees herself rising as any musical great would, building a fan base in any genre of music. Nia Devine expresses herself freely, tapping into her soul so that her music may be felt by others. "Music is art, and to be an artist you must have freedom," as Nia exclaims, "making good music is the goal and being original is the key."
