It is amazing to us how many great singers come out of the quiet city of Cleveland, Ohio. The home of the Cavaliers has also been the home of seemingly countless top tier musicians and vocalists. And for the past few years we’ve been following one of a new generation of singer-songwriters who grew up in Believeland: the now L.A.-based Wade C. Long.
Earlier this year, Wade took a ride on the charts with his fantastic hit, “Bulljivin’,” and we began our wait for the accompanying album. Well, the time has come, and Wade has just released the brilliant disc, Nostalgia, an album mixed with instrumentals and vocal numbers that capture the vibes of classic soul, jazz and even a bit of funk. It is a great addition to what is developing into a wonderful year for new music, and Wade again shows he has the goods.
In his “Highly Recommended” rating on Nostalgia, our Howard Dukes wrote, “Nostalgia is defined as longing or wistful affection for the past, typically a period or place with happy personal associations. Music fans who appreciate soul singing, romantic lyrics and strong R&B instrumental arrangements will associate Nostalgia with good music – regardless of in what era their musical tastes were made.”
We couldn’t say it any better. Check out Nostalgia, our newest Album of the Month.
