(April 8, 2019) The NYC musical collective Snack Cat is new to us here at SoulTracks, but they have sound that is both intriguing and fun to listen to.
The band is releasing a debut EP this coming May, and they lead off with a cool single that sounds like The Doobie Brothers meets Incognito. “Leaving LA” is a midtempo that straddles a number of musical lines, but is really driven by its infectious melody and strong vocals.
Group leader Aleksi Glick tells us, “I wrote ‘Leaving LA’ on a Los Angeles rooftop in January 2018. Something about the setting of the dirty yet iconic city got the creative juices flowing – the many dreamers trying to make it big and putting on whatever face or facade got them through the day. While the song comes from a reflective and almost pensive place, a certain joy and hopefulness comes through in its performance.”
We’re proud to present the World Premiere of “Leaving LA.” Check it out below and welcome Snack Cat to SoulTracks!
