(July 24, 2017) Her last name has changed recently, yet her fiery praise and worship purpose remains firmly planted. Tasha Cobbs-Leonard is best remembered for the emphatic plea of “Break Every Chain” that blazed its way to the top of the Billboard Gospel Charts four years ago. Yet this worship leader from Dream Center Church in Atlanta, Georgia has also had such chart toppers as “Fill Me Up,” “For Your Glory” and the old school/new school hybrid, “Put a Praise on It” featuring Kierra Sheard.
In a slight change of pace, Cobbs-Leonard’s latest single, “Great God,” brings a touch of funk but always keeps her at the forefront, anchored by crisp call and response and slow building praise fervor. This is only a taste from her upcoming project late this summer, entitled Heart Passion Pursuit, featuring a collective of worship leaders from around the globe, that furthers Cobbs-Leonard’s mission to focus on nothing but God’s great glory.
