Toni Braxton loses songs in bankruptcy

She’s been blessed with fame, talent and, at times, fortune. But Toni Braxton has also had her share of heartaches in love, personal health and finance, including two bankruptcy filings over the years.

Turns out her most recent bankruptcy has cost her not only her physical assets, but also some of her art. TMZ reports that as part of that deal, 27 of the songs Toni owned the rights to, including “You’re Making Me High” and “Always,” became available for bidding by creditors. The original thought was that Toni would be able to buy them back, but instead was outbid by a Mr. Ross Klein, who now becomes the owner of those songs.

It is a sad break for a beloved artist, but hopefully one that will not derail her going forward.
