Singer Lalah Hathaway smashed the SoulTracks monthly download record in June with her track "That Was Then." The track comes from her new, critically acclaimed album, Self Portrait, which has been called by many the best solo release of her nearly two decade career. "That Was Then" logged over 4,300 downloads, easily surpassing the record previously held by Southern soul singer Heston for this song "Brand New U."
Hathaway scored another victory during June by topping the SoulTracks Popularity Index, a measure of the most visited and searched-for artists during the month.
