With all the talk this week about the breadth of soul music beyond what we saw on the Grammy Awards, it was great to receive not one but two premieres of videos by one of our favorite duos, the husband and wife team of Kindred the Family Soul. And Fatin and Aja show their own diversity with brand new videos of two very different songs from their Love Has No Recession album: The first is the bouncy Motown-like track “Authentically You,” featuring the dynamic Lady Alma. And the other captures the DC Go-Go sound with DJ Kool and the legendary Chuck Brown on “Going to the Go-Go.”With these great songs and videos, Kindred again reminds us that soul music is so many different and wonderful things.
