Ambassador Andrew & Carolyn Young and Walter & Sonjia Young were the visionaries for this gala. They wanted to create a memorable event for their long-time friend that would celebrate her life and accomplishments. The many facets of Angelou’s life was presented in various phases: Dance, Human Rights, and Spirituality with each segment featured one of the evening’s special guest. The night was filled with family, friends and well-wishers showing their gratitude for a life that has impacted people from every walk of life.
