Last Original Drifters Member Dies

Bill Pinkney, the last of the original Drifters, had died at age 81, causes unknown.  One of the most popular R&B acts of the 50s and early 60s, the Drifters helped to bridge R&B to the pop mainstream and had a bunch of great hits, including "Under the Boardwalk," "Save the Last Dance for Me" and "This Magic Moment."  Pinkney had ceased performing several years ago, but was involved in several battles regarding the rights to the Drifters name.
