The influence that the Bee Gees have spawned is felt across all genres of modern music. The Somebody’s are an eclectic group of producers who came together under the musical direction of John Campbell who together with Ken Graydon worked as Co-Managers of Robin Gibb of the Bee Gees. Having worked first hand for over 5 years with the Bee Gees songs, John wanted to make an album that would cast a completely contemporary slant on these great tracks. He wanted to do it using artists who on the whole remained to be discovered on the International stage. This allowed the creative freedom to be able to record these tracks in a style that was free and unhindered by established interpretation. John and Ken have re-joined forces in presenting this extraordinary tribute.
This recording is unique. It takes an unashamedly modern look at the classic compositions, with styles that incorporate Club, Reggae, and Rock. Both managers wanted to create a classic record that embraced modern production techniques whilst allowing the original brilliance of the songwriting to shine through.
Three production companies were involved, all leaders in their respective field. The artists were deliberately chosen as largely unknown in order to preserve the original identity that will be the hallmark of this record.
The first single release from the album is "Inside Out" produced by Pete and Steve Lewinson and featuring Rachael Bell. It is scheduled for release on Monday November 2nd 2009.
