January 5, 2020 – Welcome to 10 Gems, our new series featuring 10-song, single-artist playlists that we think may especially appeal to SoulTrackers. The focus here is not on track position or “hits,” although some are included; rather, it’s all about quality, atmospherics, groove, and feel.
Our “kickoff” artist is the uber-talented H.E.R., who in addition to her own Grammy-winning solo releases has appeared on a variety of other notable artists’ tracks over the last 12 months. As we have said before, but bears repeating, she is the “Re-birth of the Cool” in our view: Her voice, songwriting, musicianship, style and organic vibe are a powerful and addictive combination.
