A year after her Sony debut album, Lashell Griffin is independent again, and has released her first Christmas album, The Gift. As expected, she sounds great handling this grab-bag of traditional Christmas songs. She and husband Lee duet on the very nice "The First Noel" and her version of "Oh Come All Ye Faithful" is stunning. Nothing out of the ordinary here musically, just a well-selected group of Christmas standards, beautifully sung. A nice way to celebrate the holiday season.
