Norm Adams and Julia Robertson both have strong ties to the music industry. Julia—a soulful singer, formerly of the 90’s girl group Ex-Girlfriend, brings her sultriness together with Norm’s memorable and electrifying voice, in this beautifully upbeat song they’ve done together called, “My Kinda Christmas.” The world now has the pleasure to listen to their song and watch the intriguing video that goes along with it, as they spread a cheerful message about holiday decision making and the love of Christmas.
Adams and Robertson explain that the song is about something that many couples find themselves discussing around the holidays—where to spend Christmas. In “My Kinda Christmas,” Norm is more footloose and fancy free in his desire to go to the warm and sunny destination of Jamaica. Julia, on the other hand, is all about being traditional. Gathering around the fireplace, and relaxing at home is more like her cup of tea. The couple lovingly goes back and forth with each other about the excitement they feel imagining each scenario. It’s a feel good song that will put a smile on the listeners face, as they sing along to the memorable verse, “It looks like it’s gonna be—my kinda Christmas.”
Adams says, “That’s kind of the goal for holiday music in general, to get you in the spirit of the season. And for”My Kinda Christmas” in particular, it was important that the song sounded like Christmas.”
