Enchantment was undoubtedly one of the hottest products to come of Detroit in the late 70s. With hits like “Gloria” and “It’s You That I Need,” the group combined lush arrangements, great songs and the unique falsetto stylings of lead singer E.J. Johnson to become a fan favorite.
By the time Enchantment reached Columbia Records in 1982, a little of the group’s luster had worn off, and their terrific album, Utopia, received neither the label push nor radio acceptance that it deserved. But those who found the album cherished it, perhaps especially the great ballad, “Love Struck.” “Love Struck” is our latest SoulTracks Lost Gem. Check it out below and enjoy it again…or the first time!
