The group GQ has a brief moment in the sun in the late 70s and was best known for its dance hit, “Disco Nights.” But it was their second single, a remake of Billy Stewart’s “I Do Love You,” that preserved for them a permanent place in the annals of soul music. It showed the group’s chops at handling more traditional soul music, and it became a staple on radio.

Take a listen again to this great hit below and remember with us this great updating of a classic.
