First Look: “Don’t Run” from Juliet July’s newest video + single

juliet-dontrun

(June 9, 2018) International singer Juliet July is making inroads with a new music video for her latest single, the Virgil Lewis-produced “Don’t Run.” The talented Amsterdam-based singer/actress/model courts the sound of Corrine Bailey Rae and SZA on this one, which follows the smooth adult R&B heard recently on her previous single “Worlds Unknown.”

In the video, which was partly shot in Capetown, South Africa, July also mesmerizes visually with simple camera panning, rapturous colors and cinematic romance. All of this work in tandem with the song’s lyrical ebb and flow, where she longs for intimacy while also pushing away for love in what seems like a deep crossroads moment: “Don’t run when I tell you to/I’m not pushing you out of my arms.”
