(October 28, 2021) On the dreamy ballad “Slip and Fall,” Grammy nominated songwriter Will Jordan takes us to a place that has been the setting for romantic movies, and for the fortunate few, real life. In doing so, Jordan paints a picture of words and emotions that puts his unique spin on the classic story of love at first sight. The song captures that moment when eyes connect, which is the first step of a much deeper connection.
Each verse draws this couple and us as listeners deeper into a relationship. We move from that initial connection where the only thing that is known and assured is a mutual attraction. Jordan then lets us see how that curiosity grows into something deeper as two people slowly let down their guards, exposing vulnerabilities and their deeper desires and fears. Soon, the couple realize that they’ve covered all the formalities and they might just be about to go to that point of no return. “Slip and Fall” finds Jordan letting this lady know that he’s ready, but he’s also willing to go at her pace.
Jordan has been releasing quality music for a while, whether we’re talking about the series of highly regarded projects he’s released since his debut EP In Case it Rains, last year’s “Be Good” or writing the hook for “Fly” by Nicki Minaj feat. Rihanna. That trend continues with “Slip and Fall.” Check it out here.
