More than three decades on from those seminal works, Downing’s latest single, “Love on You,” has been given a smoothly kinetic house flavor on a new remix. His vocals from the original version are placed aptly into the coolly swaying rhythmic progression for a listening experience that is just as seductive—with an added spin factor. The straightforward but tasteful lyrical passages mesh with the new vibe nicely, with Downing’s spoken interlude fitting like a glove.
