(July 22, 2017) Sometimes a combination comes along that is one that is just made in heaven. And for adult soul lovers, it would be tough to come up with a musical combo that is more golden than Will Downing and Avery Sunshine. Between them they have armfuls of SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Awards, and everything either of them records is a big deal with us. And them recording together? Now that’s something to cheer about.
So we were excited when Will told us about his new single with Avery, a mid-tempo number that should have SoulTrackers grooving and cheering. “Feeling the Love” is a vocal tour de force, and gives a very nice introduction to Will’s upcoming album, Soul Survivor. It is Will’s 20th album, and features collaborations with such longtime favorites as Phil Perry and Najee — another sign that he is, indeed, a Soul Survivor.
