World Premiere! Greg Dean, Chantae Cann and Jarrod Lawson give us “Unconditional” Joy

Greg Dean describes his passion for music as a “lifelong journey of love, passion & good music.” And he has made the most of that passion, becoming one of the most popular producers and writers in his native South Africa.

Also known as a performing artist called GB Collective, Greg is working on a new album that features vocal help from many of America’s biggest independent soul names, including Eric Roberson, Carol Riddick and more. The album will be released by Purpose Music Group/Nia Distribution.

Greg is giving SoulTrackers a sneak peek at that album, with his fantastic new single featuring two of the brightest young singers around, Jarrod Lawson and Chantae Cann, “Unconditional Love.” The song opens with heavenly harmonies before Chantae and Jarrod trade sweet and powerful vocals on an elegant midtempo number that has an absolutely classic feel.

Greg tells us more:

What the song means to me: A rose blooming with thorns, and a wall seeping with cracks symbolize what I think Unconditional Love is. How sometimes it’s when our loved ones hurt us, that we realize how much we love them. If we didn’t, it wouldn’t hurt so much. If we can get through the hurt, that’s when our love has reached the status of “unconditional”.

Working with Chantae and Jarrod: Working with Chantae and Jarrod was a complete dream. The chemistry was so natural and relaxed, we could’ve been chilling at home in our slippers! While I maintained a calm and collected front on the outside, to watch their talent and professionalism at work had me freaking out like a little child on the inside. I feel so blessed to have met them, worked with them, and even more so to have developed a friendship with them both.
