First Listen: Smokie Norful has “What You Need” in great new single

smokienorful

We’ve been fans of Smokie Norful for over a decade now, but the “I Need You Now” singer has been quieter in the past few years. Forever Yours is Smokie’s first all new album in eight years. The album is released on The Motown Gospel label and no doubt will be one of this year’s biggest Gospel albums.

“I’ve Got What You Need” is an essential, stand out uptempo feel good cut on the album that could fit into a modern Soul set on today’s classier dance floors. It has a feel like JMAY’s 2011 hit “I Won’t Hurt You,” with a bit of a Motown flair to it. This simply sticks out as a little gem that will be around a long time to come. Please check our latest SoulTracks First Listen and tell us what you think!
